Hello Friends!
I realized last night that I forgot to mention all the eco-friendly aspects of our wedding. Ha! I was just enjoying sharing the pics. So here’s a list of some of the decisions we made to have an eco-friendly celebration:
- I made my dress from a duvet cover from goodwill. I drew the pattern for my top on junk mail paper.
- Our rings are made from recycled silver.
- We made the decorative streamers for our talent show out of junk mail.
- The B&B we stayed at has many eco-friendly practices, including safe cleaners and low flow toilets.
- The food at our reception was mostly from the farmers market and grown locally.
- The snacks at our talent show were all from bulk bins and served in colorful tin and cardboard containers.
- Because we chose a naturally lush and gorgeous location, we didn’t have to buy any other decorations or flowers. for our ceremony or reception site.
- Most of the beads on my dress were from old necklaces I took apart and repurposed.
- The small amount of food leftover from our reception was eaten at the bonfire that night, so no food was wasted.
- I painted notecards we had to use as thank you cards instead of buying new ones.
That being said, there was a small amount of plastic bought related to our wedding:
- A few tubes of craft paint to paint my dress (I had a lot of paint already, but needed more white and some textile medium).
- A bag of beads when my other beads were used up.
That’s all I can think of at the moment. Now we’re going to start packing for our trip! In only 5 days! And we have an entire apartment to move into storage! Ah! Bye!
