Getting Creative When Eating Out

Yesterday, Mark and I were running lots of errands and suddenly became very hungry. I’m sure you know how that goes. Well, we decided to stop at Einstein Bros Bagels. At first, I was thinking of just getting a bagel to carry me over until I could get some real food. Then, Mark and I saw that they had some yummy sandwiches. As we placed our order, we asked Andrew, the gentleman taking our order, if there was any plastic packaging involved. Today's Journey of Awareness

Mark and I just recently returned from a wonderful lunch date with his grandfather.  As we were telling his grandfather about our No New Plastic commitment, the waiter brought us cups of water with the straws already in them!!!  Who does that?  I had already rehearsed in my head asking the waiter to take the straws back, and he shows up with them already in the drinks!  Bummer.  What we learned from that is to mention to the waiter before he/she prepares our drinks that we do not want straws.
